Join Us in Making a Difference

At 1 in 5 Initiative, we are dedicated to creating a supportive, empowering environment where everyone feels valued and included. Through our collaborative efforts, we strive to raise awareness, and advocate for mental health, while providing resources to members of the Ottawa community. Together, we can provide education, challenge stigmas, and contribute to a more inclusive narrative for all.

The 1 in 5 Initiative recognizes that our facilities in Ottawa are located on the unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabek Nation, which has been here since time immemorial.

The Algonquins are the traditional guardians and defenders of this territory, and we salute their long tradition of hospitality, which has benefited many nations. We pledge to defend and promote the voice and values of our host nation.

The 1 in 5 Initiative also recognizes the historical oppression of the territories, cultures, and First Peoples of what is now called Canada and strongly believes in the process of healing and decolonization that we must pursue together.
